Nate Simons
Nate Simons
My name is Nate Simons. I am the 5-12 band director for the Logan-Magnolia school district. Along with my teaching duties, I am also the head director for the Southwest Iowa Honor Marching Band (one of the top 100 marching bands in the nation!). I also direct a jazz band and teach a jazz improv class at the Northwest Missouri State Music Camp of Excellence each summer.
Any spare time I have is spent with my family. My primary instrument is the saxophone, but can keep up on the clarinet and flute. I currently play with two groups, “Bootleg Jukebox” and “Who That Four?” I have performed with Clark Terry, Slide Hampton, the Prairie Cats, the Bluffs Big Band, Jimmy B Orchestra, many small jazz combos, some pit orchestra work and the First Christian Church Praise Band.
